This working group, chaired by Alex Brisbourne, aims at providing an inventory of mobile instrumentation in Europe and its surroundings, and experiments in which mobile equipment is used. Deployments of broad-band stations longer than one year are listed in the station database for Europe and the Mediterranean of Working group 1.

Database update

Working group 3 of ORFEUS maintains a database of portable seismic instruments in use by European institutions. These can be either broadband or short pe riod instruments suitable for temporary deployment on arrays for detecting earthquake or controlled source signals. In order to keep this database up to date, we would appreciate if you contact one of us concerning new information, comments, corrections, additions etc.: at ORFEUS or (SEIS-UK) at Leicester, UK.

WG3 meeting at EGU 2011

ORFEUS WG3 aims at improving coordination of mobile instrumentation facilities across Europe and its surroundings, and exeriments in which mobile equipment is used.

The aim of this meeting is to bring together groups with the aim of increasing data archive rates at ORFEUS from mobile experiments. Information on related NERA project developments will be provided as well.

Furthermore, this meeting will also address the growing interest in coordinationg onshore and offshore seismic facilities and data management procedures (see workshop in Lisbon, May 25-28, 2011).
