Status and planning
The Virtual European Broadband Seismograph Network (VEBSN) Information on the (near) real-time data exchange. (Activity within WP2)
SeisComP/SeedLink Seedlink and Seiscomp developments, overview over developed plugins, etc. (Activity within WP2.3, WP2.6)
AutoDRM installations in Europe and surroundings for waveform data exchange (this includes work in WP2.2, WP2.3, WP2.5).
QuakeExplorer Waveform viewer with basic analysis capacities. (This includes work within WP4.5)

Developments
This list is far from complete, but offers sometimes general information to the MEREDIAN particpants. Results are more completely presented in the Annual reports.

Date	Result
June, 2004	SHAPE SEED Header Assembly and Preparation Engine): A Dataless SEED Building Tool. This software package has been obtained for the MEREDIAN consortium. It is open software. SHAPE is a tool for easily building Dataless SEED volumes. The inputs to SHAPE are response text files in RESP format, where RESP format is the format used by the IRIS programs for response evaluation (evalresp, jevalresp, and jplotresp), and are typically generated from SEED volumes via the IRIS rdseed program.
June, 2004	SeedLink developments Java implementation of The C library libslink. Together with a some Java appliations this has been developed by Anthony Lomax. new SeisComP beta version (2.1-beta.2004.180) is now available.
June, 2004	The new SeisComP manual for version 2.1 is available.
January, 2004	We submitted an article about the VEBSN to EOS (accepted version of January 16 2004). The feature article will appear in the March 30, 2004 issue. Suggestions for similar initiatives, please, contact
January, 2004	POND data is currently available through the new WILBER II web interface.
November, 2003	Chad Trabant will start his new position at the IRIS-DMC as off mid-February 2004. will replace him and start at ORFEUS as off mid-December 2003. Lucas will replace Chad as contact for the VEBSN.
November, 2003	The EMSC, ORFEUS and the Balkan countries will be submitting a proposal for upgrading the monitoring network and realizing, among other, regional real-time exchange of waveform data. This was the essence of a meeting in Slovenia, 16-18 November 2003.
March, 2003	The VEBSN is presently fully operating (see French earthquake 22-02-2003 postscript file with signal display). Observatories can receive the email allerts (rapid locations of medium-to-large-size events within 10-15 minutes).
20 September, 2002	The "POND" (Pool Of Networked Data) is now available through FTP (ftp orfeus.knmi.nl -> pub -> data -> POND). Detailed explanation can be found in the ORFEUS Newsletter
June, 2002	Real-time data from our continuous buffer is now publicly accessible through AutoDRM (rtautodrm@knmi.nl).
1 May, 2002	Starting date EC-project EVK2-CT-2001-80002 "EMICES" This is an Accompanying Measures project for three workshops within the TIP program of the MEREDIAN project.
15 April, 2002	Official starting date MEREDIAN-2 ammendment. See MEREDIAN-2 participant list
19 March, 2001	Gilles Ollier has given us the OK for our requested changes in the budget. This means that we go ahead for real-time data exchange through the Internet and extended developments of the SeisComP package. We will contact each participant on the relevant discussed implications.
